टिना र “वन स्ट्राइक” नीति

“यदि FHP हुँदैन थियो भने म आज सडकमा हुने थिएँ ।

“वन स्ट्राइक” नीतिको कारणले गर्दा टिनाले घरमा घर खाली गर्ने सूचना प्राप्त गर्दा उहाँको जीवन उल्टोपाल्टो भएको थियो । टिना सो घरमा आफ्नो वयस्क उमेरको छोरा र दुईजना नाबालिग नातिनातिनासँग बस्नुहुन्थ्यो । केही हप्ता अगाडि, टिनाको वयस्क छोरालाई पक्राउ गरेर थुनामा कैद गरिएको थियो । घरबाट हटाउने उक्त सूचनाले टिना तथा उहाँका नातिनातिनालाई उहाँको वयस्क छोरालाई पक्राउ गरिएको कारणले गर्दा 30 दिनभित्र सरेर जान निर्देशन दिएको थियो । “वन स्ट्राइक” नीतिले उहाँको घरधनी, पब्लिक हाउजिङ अथोरिटीलाई परिवारको कुनै एक सदस्यको कथित आपराधिक क्रियाकलापका आधारमा पूरै परिवारलाई घरबाट हटाउने अनुमति प्रदान गर्थ्यो ।

FHP ले “वन स्ट्राइक” नीतिलाई चुनौती दिँदै टिना तथा उहाँको परिवारको तर्फबाट पैरवी गर्‍यो ’cause यसले जाति, राष्ट्रिय मूल तथा पारिवारिक स्थितिका आधारमा भाडावालहरूलाई असमान तरिकाले असर गरेको थियो । PHA हरूभित्र “वन स्ट्राइक” नीतिहरूका ’boutमा थप जानकारीका लागि कृपया डिपार्टमेन्ट अफ हाउजिङ एण्ड अर्बन डेभलपमेन्ट (अमेरिकी आवास तथा शहरी विकास विभाग) को Guidance for Public Housing Agencies (PHAs) and Owners of Federally-Assisted Housing on Excluding the Use of Arrest Records in Housing Decisions शिर्षक भएको PIH 2015-19 को सूचना हेर्नुहोस्

Last week Mayor @gainey_ed and Walnut Capital announced changes to the planned Oakland Crossings development.

Proposed is that 10% of the multifamily residential units will be affordable to households at 50% Area Median Income (AMI) which for a family of 4 is about $42,400.

The City of @Pittsburgh announced that its rental registry begins on May 29, 2022 and that rental properties have until December 31, 2022 to register.

Sed Valorem, an exhibit by Harrison Kinnane Smith at the @mattressfactory, personifies the racial disparity in home values. The exhibit includes two appraisals of the same home in Highland Park, one presented the homeowner as Black and the second presented the homeowner as white.

A home buyer’s personal appeal to a seller, commonly known as a “Love Letter” provides personal characteristics, such as a family photo, that allows for potential housing discrimination. @PARealtors

A $75,000 settlement between @TheJusticeDepart and the Housing Authority of the Town of Lone Wolf in #Oklahoma settled a complaint alleging that a Black mother and child’s housing application was denied due to their race. #FairHousing

A Airbnb pilot policy in #Oregon will show hosts only the first initial of guests’ names until the booking is finalized. The policy arose from a 2019 settlement for a lawsuit filed by 3 Black women who alleged racial discrimination by Airbnb hosts due to their names and pictures.

A development proposal for 41 townhomes in @MtLebanonPA is drawing familiar #NotInMyBackYard responses from community members.

The campaign highlights pretextual tropes about neighborhood character that reflect the racial segregation in which American neighborhoods were built.
